One of the most “ancient” sorts of pasta, a basic component of our diet. Trahana has brought up many generations of Greeks due to its high nutritional value. Apart from the usual way of cooking, in soup, you can also experiment with other dishes, such as vegetables stuffed with trahana, especially during summer, when a variety of fresh vegetables is out.
In this way, such dishes can become popular with children. Served plain with a bit of Feta, trahana is ideal on a cold winter night. It needs plenty of water to boil in and approximately 20 minutes to cook. You can also make trahana pies, either sweet or salty with feta; a truly delicious variation! Sweet trahana is made with boiled sheep milk, semolina, flour and salt.
